IT Support

The University's Office of OneIT Department provides no technical support for those electing to use a POP client to retrieve Gmail. The use of Gmail with POP is only for those requiring devices that do not support IMAP.

  1. Log into Gmail and click on the gear icon in the top right, select Settings
  2. Click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
  3. In the POP Download section, click Enable POP for all mail
  4. Leave option 2 the default of keep UNC Charlotte Mail's copy in the Inbox
  5. Scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes
  6. Go back to the gear icon in the top right, select Settings
  7. Click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
  8. In the POP Download section, click the Configuration instructions link
  9. Click the I want to enable POP
  10. Select the particular client/device you want to use and follow the instructions provided
