Tell Me

  1. If you are using a personal computer, download and install the Cisco AnyConnect client then follow the steps below.
  2. If you are using a University computer, the Cisco AnyConnect client is already installed on the computer.
Connect using WindowsConnect using Mac
  1. Go to Start > All Programs > Cisco > Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client
  2. Click Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client to launch the application

  3. Make sure the VPN profile you want to connect to is typed in the window; click Connect
    1. vpn.uncc.edu for the general faculty/staff profile
    2. vpn.uncc.edu/students for the student profile
    3. vpn.uncc.edu/remoteinb for Banner INB access
    4. vpn.uncc.edu/engr for College of Engineering faculty, staff and students

  4. Enter your NinerNET username and password; click OK

  5. The Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client will display in the System Tray, bottom right near the sound and wifi icons, with a lock icon to show you are connected

  1. Go to your Applications folder and open the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client
  2. Make sure the VPN profile you want to connect to is typed in the window; click Connect
    1. vpn.uncc.edu for the general faculty/staff profile
    2. vpn.uncc.edu/students for the student profile
    3. vpn.uncc.edu/remoteinb for Banner INB access

    5. or other specialized profile name
  3. Enter your NinerNET username and password; click OK

  4. The Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client will display in the upper-right side of the menu bar, with a lock icon to show you are connected

  5. To disconnect, follow these instructions


Tip

Students can also access WebVPN by going to webvpn.uncc.edu/students

Warning

When connected to the VPN, you will lose access to all local assets (network printers, network storage devices, etc..) and you may not have access to some services. If you require additional specialized access, contact your direct supervisor to request the specific services (IP address and port numbers that you need) and submit a request to the IT Service Desk, 704-687-5500.
