Tell Me

  1. Login to Canvas and access a course
  2. Select My Media
    Go to My Media
  3. Click the video title link for the video you wish to download. In this example we clicked Testing Kaltura Capture recording
    Click the title of video to edit
  4. Click on the Actions button under the video
  5. Click Edit
    Choose Actions then Edit for the video
  6. You will see several tabs to add additional actions. Click the Downloads tab
    Choose the downloads tab
  7. The available formats for download is set to not allow your students to download your video.
  8. Choose any or all of the available formats for students to download
    1. Mobile: For phones or tablets
    2. HD: High definition (depends on the student's bandwidth to download)
    3. Source: Original source video file
  9. After selecting the formats, click Save
  10. For students to download, they will go to Media Gallery

  11. Click on the video to download
  12. Click the down arrow on the Details button

  13. Click Download to see the available formats for download
  14. Find the format you want and click its Download link

  15. The browser will prompt the student to open or save the file. 
  16. If you receive a small window prompt to Allow or Block, choose Allow (download multiple files)

  17. The downloaded file will be downloaded to the student's computer

  18. Depending on the student's browser settings, the file may be automatically sent to their Downloads folder

Download Video

The Download option is only available to students in the Media Gallery.  While you can still add your video to a specific area of the course, if you want students to be able to download it you need to include that information in the description.  Alternately, you can add a course link that takes them directly to the Media Gallery.
